How to excel in entrance exams? Every student’s aspiring dream; get admission to a top-notch university for professional degree. But why the stats of major entrance exams of prestigious universities show so depressing results? Only a small fraction of students proves itself in these judicious exams. Most students can’t make it to their dream universities. As a successful student making through these exams, here are some advices (in the light of my experience) which can help students in their entrance exams. MINDSET Because of the rumors of entry test being a "haunted scenario”, an "intense hard mind-blowing exam ", most students consider it something like hiking mountain in snow storm. Entry test is very easy. “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE”. You do not have to get a 95% in exam. All the entrance exam experts and stats agree that only 70% to 80% marks are enough to secure your admission in a prestigious university. INFORMATION Most students do not have the necessary information about universities and their respective entrance exams. (Which may not hurt them in the long run sometimes, but deprives them of admission in their dream university). I have seen students who never knew the closing dates of the application process of the universities, and so could not apply in the respective university. You should have a rough idea of every test and every date. (They are mostly the same as last year. Universities disclose admission process dates just 15 days before start of process.) You should make a complete map for your admission. The best time being start of first year (start of A-levels). If it is convenient, visit the admission offices (And websites) of the universities and collect important information. (Official websites of universities are often not up to date) THE REAL WAY TO STUDY i--avoid rote learning As most colleges/entrance test preparation academies in Pakistan encourage rote learning for entrance exams, (like learning results of some math questions, learning unimportant temperatures and conditions of chemical reactions). The result is very gruesome. Only two or three questions come from this type, and students can utilize this time in practice. Believe me utilizing this time in question practice can make you excel in seventy questions. RAYAN JAMSHAID ii--time to start preparing Most students start preparing for these tests a month or so before the exam. Your preparation starts at time you have entered the college. If you are keen and keep your concepts clear from beginning of college, believe me you will never have to prepare for entrance exam. PRACTICE ''Practice, practice makes a student excel in tests”. You have only one chance to prove yourself in these exams. So why not foresee that chance by mock tests. Practice helps students perform better, since with the help of these tests, students are well familiarized with test pattern and time management. COMMUNITIES AND INTERNET Can not understand something regarding entrance exams, ask from the greatest guru of all time, ''internet''. There are innumerable online communities, practice materials, lectures of teachers with expertise in entrance exams, very good helping websites etc. which can help you in these exams. Also don't forget to like the official Facebook pages and websites of these universities. JUDICIOUS MOMENTS Never take tension during the exam. If you think you can get a mark or two by hurrying or guessing, you are wrong. Educated guesses are helpful, but a student gets marks according to his hard work in the long run. BEST OF LUCK
